Whose truth survives?
England, 1605.
History remembers Guy Fawkes as a traitor — the man who tried to destroy Parliament in the infamous Gunpowder Plot. But what if the story we were taught was only the version that survived?
As a nation gripped by fear searches for someone to blame, a public trial begins to shape the official truth. Behind closed doors, however, another story emerges — one of loyalty, conscience, sacrifice, and a love powerful enough to change the course of history itself.

Told through explosive ensemble numbers, intimate duets, and a haunting reimagining of the “Remember, remember…” rhyme, Re-Remembered peels back the myth behind one of Britain’s most iconic villains. As politicians, priests, conspirators, and witnesses battle to control the narrative, one question echoes through every courtroom, cellar, and whispered confession:
Who decides how history remembers us?
Darkly theatrical, emotionally charged, and fiercely contemporary, Re-Remembered is a bold new musical about truth, legacy, and the stories we choose to believe.
GUY FAWKES
A soldier shaped by war, faith, and disillusionment. Intelligent and deeply reflective, Guy becomes trapped between conviction, conscience, and the dangerous power of being remembered.
MARIA
Compassionate, perceptive, and morally fearless. Maria sees the man behind the myth and ultimately becomes the emotional and ethical heart of the story.
ROBERT CATESBY
Charismatic architect of the Gunpowder Plot. Driven by faith and fury, Catesby believes radical action is the only path left for change.
THOMAS PERCY
Impulsive and fiercely loyal to the cause. Percy thrives on momentum and action, often pushing the conspiracy forward when others hesitate.
ROBERT WINTOR
Measured, practical, and quietly intense. Robert focuses on logistics and survival, balancing caution against growing desperation.
JOHN WRIGHT
Sharp-minded and committed, John is one of the conspiracy’s strongest believers. Beneath his certainty, however, lies mounting fear.
THOMAS WINTOR
A weary conspirator caught between loyalty and self-preservation. Thomas increasingly questions whether the plan can survive reality.

THE HOODED MAN / ROBERT CECIL
A mysterious observer throughout the trial who is eventually revealed as Robert Cecil, the King’s powerful chief advisor. Calm, calculating, and politically ruthless, he understands that controlling history is as important as controlling the law.
THE JUDGE
The public face of justice and authority within the trial. Formal and commanding, the Judge believes order must survive at any cost.
THE PROSECUTOR
Confident, articulate, and relentless in pursuit of a clean narrative. The Prosecutor seeks certainty more than truth.
THE PRIEST
An old ally of Guy’s from his years abroad. Frail but courageous, he risks everything in one final act of sacrifice and friendship.
THE LANDLORD
Owner of the tavern where whispers become plans. Pragmatic and observant, he survives by seeing everything and acknowledging nothing.
THE EXECUTIONER
A silent instrument of the state’s final judgment. More symbol than man, he represents the brutal machinery of consequence.
ENSEMBLE
Citizens, guards, courtiers, priests, prisoners, officials, and witnesses who shape the world of the story. At different moments they become the voice of the crowd, the court, history itself — and the forces deciding which truths survive.
WILLOW
Guy and Maria’s young daughter, seen in the show’s final moments. Willow represents the future beyond myth, fear, and the version of history the world was meant to believe.
